An organic producer (converting to "Certified Naturally Grown" under the Farmer's Pledge): hay for local horse teams, dairy farms and meat producers; wild apples, plums, mushrooms, raspberries, pears. Practicing soil health measures through contour sod strips and cultivation of alfalfa and timothy grass strips, low-till and no-till weed management, rotational grazing of dairy heifers for community dairies. Advocating for expanded regional food systems, with focus on building soils through more on-farm animals, by promoting a new USDA inspected meat processing infrastructure (including mobile harvesting unit) for 30 small local producers. Have installed wind generator and tracking solar array for electricity.
